Want to make a sweet treat for your friends and family from your pantry? Here is one of the recipes I made last week, yummy.
Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies
- 1 cup butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 eggs
- 2 t vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 1 t baking soda
- 1/2 t salt
- 3 cups quick cooking or regular rolled oats
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Combine butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Add dry ingredients, then add oatmeal and nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoons on greased cookie sheet. Bake 10-11 minutes. Do not overbake, cookies will be slightly moist in the middle. Cool 1 minute; move to wire rack. Cool. Yield, about 4 dozen.
