Thanks to everyone who entered the contest here at Dee’s Farm and Family. While you all were sitting in your air-conditioned homes watching the humorous ”Let’s Be Honest” videos, we were at the Tennessee Junior Sheep Expo in Cookeville, TN. Three days of sheep: washing, fitting, showing, and caring for the ewes at the Hyder-Burkes Pavillion. During this event, there were more than 800 sheep from all over the state, and almost 200 youth exhibiting their animals. In addition, there was competitions in showmanship (how well the youth exhibits his sheep), fleece,public speaking, photos, and skill-a-thon (5 station interactive test over general knowledge in the sheep and livestock industry including identifying feeds, meat cuts, breeds, diseases and equipment). My children placed well and we were pleased with the results from the show. Tonight starts the 1st of our county fairs, in the rain…
