“A Woman’s Guide to reading the Bible in a Year” by Diane Stortz, book review
Reading the whole Bible from cover to cover is often a New Year’s Resolution. And it is a worthy goal, but one that can easily become overwhelming. This work book sets out a simple, easy to follow guide to read the Bible in 1 year.
The book is organized into weekly chapters that have a check list of chapters to be read each day, along with a short devotional or explanation of the week’s readings. And while the readings are organized by the books of the Bible, Stortz does mix it up a little, jumping from Old to New Testament to keep the reader interested.
Most daily readings are 3 chapters long, which should take the average reader about 20 minutes. There are also instructions to use this guide for a small group or Sunday School class. The book is small enough to be kept alongside your Bible, and would not take up to much room in your travel bag for vacation. It would make a nice gift for a special woman in your life. Appropriate for high school age and up.
