“A Woman’s Guide to Hearing God’s Voice” Finding direction and peace through the struggles of life by Leighann McCoy, book review

Leighann has put together an easy to read and understand book that takes today’s woman through a journey to learn to hear God’s voice. The book is divided into four parts:
Part 1: Wresting with God
Part 2: Where was God when…
Part 3: Let God Define Good
Part 4: God will make a way

Within each section are several chapters that explore Biblical characters and their interaction with hearing from God. The author also shares many personal experiences that show how she has been able to work through the common issues that often keep us from hearing from God.

Each chapter includes Biblical references and verses. At the end of the chapter there is a review section, entitled: Treasure hunt, which includes personal reflection and discussion questions.

This book would be very appropriate for a ladies’ Bible Study or Sunday School class. Or it would be food for personal study. While the title includes “Woman’s guide” I do feel that the principles introduced are not just for women. The examples are from a woman’s perspective, but most of the examples are male, as most of the characters in the Bible are male.

Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the publisher, Bethany House. All opinions expressed are my own.
