“Rosemary Cottage” Hope Beach Novel, #2, by Colleen Coble, book review
Amy Lang returns to Rosemary Cottage to try to heal following the death of her brother Ben. The cottage has been in her family for years and they would spend vacations there, enjoying the island and surfing.
Curtis Ireland, a coast guard officer on Hope Island is also grieving following the death of his sister Gina. But he is raising Raine, Gina’s infant daughter.
As soon as Amy arrives on the island, she is able to put her midwife skills to use and deliver baby Noah, and quickly work spreads that the island has a new midwife, so pregnant women do not have to return to the mainland for their birth. But can Amy find a doctor to supervise her work, as required by the law?
And as she and Curtis become friends, they soon learn that Gina and Ben’s deaths may not have been accidental as first reported. They work together to find the truth.
This book is a murder mystery romance with a Christian message of redemption. I enjoyed the story line and the characters. It kept my attention and the last half of the book was especially gripping, I did not want to put it down.
