“Mystery of the Heart” Ravensmoore Chronicles Book 3, by Jillian Kent, book review

Lady Mercy Grayson feels called by God to be a doctor, but it is not allowed by society. So she dresses up like a man and attends medical school as Mr. Snow. She is learning from the best teachers in England until she is discovered by another student. She flees but the problems follow her home to London, where her entire family is endangered.

Lord Eden finds the water-logged Lady Mercy, dressed as a man, on the beach and shuffles her aboard his ship headed to England. He pretends she is his valet and hides her in his cabin, for her safety. On the trip home, Lord Eden becomes ill, and Lady Mercy is able to relieve his pain with some of the techniques she learned while traveling in the Orient.

When they return to England, the mysteries continue with the theft of an ancient relic thought to provide super natural healing. While the Ravensmoore family is a God-fearing family, they also obey the authorities of their country, the King and Regent. All this adds to the mystery and a bit of mystery.

I enjoyed this book, even though I had not read the first 2 books in the series. The pace was good and the character developement was great. There was strong Christian message and faith in God.
