“Emma of Aurora” by Jane Kirkpatrick book review

The Change and Cherish Trilogy- including: “A Clearing in the Wild” “A Tendering in the Storm” and “A Mending at the Edge.”

This trilogy is based on the true story of Emma Wagner Giesy, set in the 1850’s, when women were not given much freedom or independence, but were beginning to fight for both. These books were published separately in the early 2000’s and released again in 2009. Now packaged all together in 1 book, it is easier to read Emma’s entire story.

Each book tackles a season in Emma’s life and her search for significance and love. And in each book, she learns something significant about herself and others. As with each of Kirkpatrick’s books, the character development if wonderful and as the reader I could understand the struggles and gains throughout each stage of her life.

With this 3 in 1 book, I found the size a bit uncomfortable to carry and read. It is just big! But if you are not planning to tote the book and want to save money, over buying 3 books, this is for you.

Disclaimer: I received this book from the publisher, Waterbrook Press. All opinions expressed are my own.
