“Echos of Mercy” by Kim Vogel Sawyer, book review

Carrie Lang is on another assignment to investigate conditions in the Dismore World Famous Chocolates factory. She gets a position as a toter after several other ladies or girls, really, are found unqualified. She quickly finds that the factory manager has a tight fisted control over all the workers, young and old alike.

Ollie Moore is also a new employee, although he is a janitor, and he seems quite friendly. Together they are able to investigate the death of Carrie’s colleague and help some under kids who’s father is ill and soon dies.

The book is well written and has just enough mystery to really keep the readers attention. It depicts the mind set of the day regarding child labor and education, as well as the differences between rich and poor.
