“Evening Prayers: For For Every Day of the Year” by Christoph Friedrich Blumhardt, book review

“Evening Prayers: For Every Day of the Year”
by Christoph Friedrich Blumhardt

This gift style book has a written prayer for each day of the year. While the author is not a contemporary, he was wise and thoughtful. Years ago, many Christians used “The Common Book of Prayer” as a guide for their prayers, but that has fallen out of fashion. This book is in the same tradition.

Each daily reading is 1 page. The prayers are short and genuine. Each page starts with a Bible verse that coordinates with the prayer.

This would be a nice devotional starter, or a simple way to end your day turning your thoughts toward God.

I found the book easy to read and understand. With Christmas right around the corner, this would make a beautiful gift for someone on your list.
