“Discipleship” by J. Heinrich Arnold, book review

“Discipleship” Living for Christ in the Daily Grind by J. Heinrich Arnold, book review

J. Arnold lived 1913-1982 and grew up with folks who considered discipleship very seriously. This quote is on the first page:

“Discipleship is not a question of our own doing; it is a matter of making room for God so that he can live in us.”

And the book is a series of writings on various topics within three divisions: The Disciple, The Church, The Kingdom of God. Each chapter is at least 10 pages long and has Bible verse references on many of the paragraphs. From the forward, this is not a devotional book or “feel good” type of book, but rather a book for in depth study. It could be used for a small group study, but I think it would be better suited for personal study.

Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the publisher, Plough. All opinions expressed are my own.
