“Counter Culture” by David Platt, book review
This is not an easy book to read. Platt deals with many of the difficult subjects, including poverty, same-sex marriage, racism and more. These are the headlines on the nightly news rather than something we usually read about from a prominent Christian pastor and author. But Platt does an excellent job of discussing and defining the issue and proposing solutions from a Christian worldview.
I appreciate the lengthy and personal examples in each chapter as well as the scriptural answers. And he does not leave us hanging but concludes each chapter with First Steps to Counter Culture with several step to take regarding each issue discussed.
This book is well written and easy to read- except that the subject matter is difficult to digest. This would make an excellent book for a small group or individual study.
