“Easter Stories” Classic Tales for the Holy Season” published by Plough Publishing House.
Easter is the special time of year to remember the incredible sacrifice of Christ by dying for our sins. But this is often overshadowed by bunnies, lambs, and eggs. This treasury of classic Easter stories is a great way to regain the real meaning of Easter. These stories from a variety of authors capture the spirit of Holy Week for young and old. Each story stands alone, and the whole collection would make an excellent read aloud resource for home or school.
“Rasmus and the Vagabond” by Astrid Lindgren
Lindgren is the author of Pippi Longstocking and other world famous children’s characters. This new book has a similar theme of a young boy who just wants a family. He has been raised in an orphanage, and while cared for, always longs for more. Especially a family. Finally, one night he gathers the courage to run away. After bidding a silent farewell to his friends, he just leave. This book is a tale of his adventures.
Both books are published by Plough Publishing House. I was provided a copy of each book. All opinions expressed are my own.
