“Back in the Saddle” by Ruth Logan Herne, book review- Double Ranch book 1

When things become too tough financially on Wall Street for Colt, he decides it is time to come home.  Of course, he reasons, his dad is getting older and needs help on the farm.  But he is not as warmly received as he had anticipated.  Especially by the new house manager, who greets him with a gun.

His younger brother, Nick, is not eager for Colt to come home either.  They have some adjustment time as each finds his place in the new order of the ranch.  But as the Stafford brothers begin to work together, they become a force to be respected by the town’s people, as the neighbors are not being very neighborly.

This is the first book in the Double S Ranch Series.  The characters continue to the next books, Home on the Range and Peach in the Valley.  These books show the reader some of the real challenges of living on a Ranch.

Disclaimer:  I received this book from the publisher, Multnomah.  All opinions expressed are my own.
