“Abiding Mercy” by Ruth Reid, book review

“Abiding Mercy” by Ruth Reid, An Amish Mercies Novel, book review

Faith is the 16 year old younger sister, but she works the hardest of the sisters in her parents’ restaurant. She has tried to be a good sister to Olivia, who is older. When Olivia’s long time boyfriend, Gideon, confides that Olivia is preparing to leave the Amish, Faith does not know what to do. And they her parents are hurt in a buggy accident! So much weight and responsibility now falls on Faith.

Parallel to this is a story in the Englisch world about a baby who was kidnapped during a car jacking. This baby girl, named Adriana, was from a very wealthy family. Roslyn and Brandon, the mother and father of Adriana are grief stricken at her disappearance and do all they can to help the authorities to get her back.

This is another book by the Ruth Reid who writes thoughtful books about Amish life in contemporary times. I enjoyed the book and the characters.

Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the publisher, Thomas Nelson. All opinions expressed are my own.
